Skills Training on Effective Community Integration
"Hindi biro ang 'gawaing tao' o gawaing pagtatrabaho kasama ang tao," says Joe Vibar Nero, whose article "Mga Unang Hakbang Tungo sa Tao" serves as NSTP PLUS's inspiration for conducting Skill Training on Effective Community Integration (ST1) for NSTP PLUS students.
The workshop aims to help the students prepare for their upcoming integration activities with their communities by introducing them to the necessity of integration in the context of NSTP PLUS and by helping them grasp their apprehensions in doing community integration and service so that they may be able to come up with appropriate ways to address them.
The workshop included a role playing on possible scenarios during NSTP PLUS community insertions so that the students can be aware of their tendencies during such situations, then it proceeded to giving of integration tips both by the facilitators and the students. During the latter part of the workshop, the students cited their commitments (10 do's and don'ts) which they will abide by throughout the year.
